Humanics Lab Inspires Kano Children on Innovation & Responsible AI

On 30th August 2025, Humanics Lab proudly joined the Kano Children Leadership & Skills Training, organised by Sufi Innovation and Development Solutions (SIDES), to nurture the next generation of leaders, innovators, and responsible digital citizens.

Representing Humanics Lab, Muftawu Sanusi – Head of Innovation & Development, delivered an engaging workshop on:

Innovation & Use of AI – Introducing Children to Creative Thinking, Technology & Responsible Use of AI

The session exposed children under 18 to the power of creative thinking, digital innovation, and artificial intelligence while emphasizing ethics, safety, and responsibility in the digital world.

Key Highlights from the Workshop

• What is AI? – Simplified explanation with real-life examples children can relate to (chatbots, translation apps, smart recommendations).
• Why AI Matters for Arewa & Nigeria – From agriculture and healthcare to education and trade, AI presents massive opportunities.
• Creative Thinking with Technology – Hands-on activities encouraging imagination, coding games, and digital art.
• Responsible Use of Technology – Promoting phone ethics, online safety, and the “3C Rule”: Create, Collaborate, Contribute.
• Arewa Inspiration – Linking Kano’s legacy of trade, scholarship, and innovation with today’s digital future.

Impact

Children left the session with new curiosity, practical skills, and a deeper sense of responsibility in using AI and technology. The workshop reinforced Humanics Lab’s commitment to building innovation hubs, training young people in digital skills, and ensuring technology empowers communities responsibly.
